Using their prior knowledge of food chains and ecosystems/biomes, students will create a PowerPoint illustrating a possible food chain in the ecosystem/biome (tundra, grassland, rainforest, etc.) of their choice. Students will need to think of a producer, a decomposer and at least three consumers in the food chain. After they decide what their food chain may look like, students will use Google Images or Flickr to download copyright-friendly photos of the organisms in their food chain, including a photo of the ecosystem/biome that they can paste in as the background to the PowerPoint slide. Students will then paste the photos into the slide in order of the food chain. The photos will be labeled and will be joined by arrows (from the PowerPoint Drawing toolbar) showing the path of the food chain.
