After practicing quotations for about a week, this is our closing lesson. Using various types of macaroni the students write sentences on a small white board and use the macaroni as quotation marks and ending punctuation. Elbow macaroni is used for the beginning quotes, ending quotes, and the commas. Regular small macaroni is used for the periods. "Swirly" macaroni is used for question marks.
